you've probably never thought about what your skin actually recognizes.
most moisturizers sit on top of the skin, a layer of synthetic ingredients doing their best impression of hydration. tallow does something different. because it closely mirrors the sebum your skin produces naturally, your skin doesn't just absorb it. it recognizes it. that distinction matters more than any ingredient list.
petal & pasture whipped tallow is rendered from grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle and naturally rich in vitamins a, d, e, and k, the same nutrients your skin uses to renew cells, protect against environmental damage, and maintain a healthy, luminous glow. no fillers, no synthetics, nothing your skin has to work around.
this is skincare the way it was always meant to be.
why scent matters
scent is the only on of our senses with a direct line to the brain's emotional center. it bypasses logic and lands somewhere deeper, memory, mood, feeling. this is why aromatherapy isn't a trend. it's ancient, and it works.
each scent in the petal & pasture collection was blended with pure essential oils and botanicals, not just to smell good, but to do something.
lavender fields uses lavandula angustifolia, one of the most studied essential oils for calming the nervous system. soft, floral, and quietly grounding, this scent is for the end of the day, the deep breath, the exhale you forgot to take.
citrus vanilla layers grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot, litsea, neroli, and petitgrain over the warmth of vanilla and benzoin. citrus oils are naturally uplifting, shown to support mood and mental clarity. this one is for the mornings you need a reason to be present.
botanical earth is the most complex of the three, cedarwood, vetiver, patchouli, black pepper, ginger, cistus, oakmoss, and more, each known for grounding and stress reduction. this scent is for the days that feel like too much. let it carry you somewhere quieter.
how to build your petal & pasture ritual
the directions are simple: warm a pea-sized amount between your palms and massage into skin until absorbed. but here's how to make it something you actually look forward to.
- warm it first. tallow melts at body temperature, so a few seconds between your palms is all it takes. that moment, the warmth, the scent rising, is where the ritual begins. don't rush it.
- damp skin is a bonus, not a requirement. if you're applying after a shower, even better. slightly damp skin allows the tallow to penetrate more deeply. but if dry skin is what you've got, use it anyway. your skin will still thank you.
- breathe it in. before you start applying, take one breath. let the scent land. this is a thirty second investment that changes the entire tone of whatever comes next in your day or night.
- use it everywhere. petal & pasture is as versatile as it is luxurious. body, lips, hands, cuticles, overnight repair. and yes, many of our customers use it on their face too. because tallow recognizes your skin wherever you put it, it layers beautifully as part of a full skincare routine or works perfectly on its own.
one formula. every need.
this is not a product that asks you to do more. it's one jar, one ritual, one ingredient your skin already understands.
your skin's original moisturizer has been here the whole time.
